The October 10 Aftermath: Sergio Mendoza Takes Ricardo Sandoval's Two Flyweight Belts Out of the Pool in Five Rounds, While Floyd Schofield Wins the Vacant WBA Lightweight Title After Fifteen Months Away
Three world titles were live and a pool fighter was attached to each one. Sergio Mendoza came in on three weeks of notice as a seven-to-one underdog, put Ricardo Sandoval down three times and took the unified WBC and WBA flyweight belts out of the pool in five rounds. Floyd Schofield beat Lucas Bahdi on scores of 116-110, 115-111 and 119-108 for the vacant WBA lightweight title, his first fight in fifteen months and the first world belt of his career, from the floor of the Promoter League price list. Osleys Iglesias stopped Oliver Zaren in the seventh in Quebec City to keep the IBF super middleweight title and asked for Christian Mbilli next.
